Larking about in the Loire!
With September just around the corner and endless outdoor activities on tap, it’s a perfect time to visit the Loire. The crowds have started to subside but there’s still plenty of great weather and lots to explore.
It’s understandable that the Loire is known as the garden of France, a UNESCO world heritage site where you will find fantastic scenery, food and fun for all ages. With it’s plethora of majestic chateaux’s, elegant gardens and superb restaurants not to mention France’s longest wine route!
Only a 5 hour drive from the Eurotunnel in Calais it’s a must see area of France.
Don’t forget to pack your bicycles and canoes as the Loire valley is a pure paradise for those wishing to explore on two wheels with lots of excellent cycle routes passing unspoilt villages and rivers.

If you are a foodie family, there is bountiful produce in the Loire including goats cheese, truffles and rilettes. One of the most popular markets in the Loire valley is the large Sunday market in the town of Amboise. Why not stock up with goodies and head for a picnic on Nazelles-Negron beach. Set in 5 acres with a fishing lake camp with Viviane at Autreche with a camper van or even a spot of glamping. Here you can explore the region to your hearts content.
